Possible online services disruption due to Internet related outage

A worldwide technology outage is causing disruption to some State of Illinois online systems.  We are aware of this issue and are diligently working on restoration.

Youth Deer Season Information

Season Dates: October 12 -14, 2024

  • Hunters may only purchase one Youth Either-Sex Deer Permit (available for purchase over the counter at License Vendors August 6, 2024 - October 14, 2024).
  • The Youth Deer Season is only open to hunters who have not reached their 18th birthday prior to the opening date of the season.

  • The Youth Either-Sex Deer Permit is available to eligible resident and nonresident youths. The statewide-issued permit is valid on private land, with landowner permission, or on public land sites open to the Youth Deer Season.

  • A hunter with an unfilled, valid Youth Deer Hunt Permit may also hunt during the first firearm deer season November 22 - 24, 2024, subject to restrictions outlined in Administrative Rule 17-685

In addition to a 2024 Youth Deer Hunt Permit, all eligible youth hunters must have a current, valid Apprentice or Youth Hunting License, or they must have completed a State-approved Hunter Education course and have a hunting license, unless exempt.  Hunting licenses can be purchased online or over the counter at a License Vendor.
