A worldwide technology outage is causing disruption to some State of Illinois online systems.  We are aware of this issue and are diligently working on restoration.

Attention hunters: Visit our FAQ page for information about the use of centerfire, single-shot rifles for deer hunting in Illinois.

Located minutes southeast of Springfield, Sangchris Lake State Park serves as a perfect home-base for enjoying outdoor activities including fishing, boating, camping, hunting, picnics and family gatherings amid native forests of oak, maple, butternut and persimmon.

The park totals more than 3,000 acres, with 120 miles of shoreline on Sangchris Lake, a power station cooling lake constructed in 1964.

Camping is available near the lakeshore at the Deer Run and Hickory Point campgrounds, with accessible campsites at both locations.

Sangchris Lake is an angler's paradise, with bass, bluegill, crappie, and catfish, with easy boat access from the east and western shores, as well as the Strawkas Point launch just off Ill. Rt. 104.

Hunters enjoy waterfowl, dove, deer, squirrel and upland seasons at Sangchris Lake. Hikers can enjoy wildflowers and songbirds along scenic nature trails. For equestrians, there are 20-miles of trails to explore.
