The highest quality prairie shows little to no evidence of disturbance and includes a full complement of prairie plants typically found in these rather harsh, dry, conditions, including little bluestem, prairie dropseed, porcupine grass, side oats gramma, big bluestem, Indian grass, prairie brome, prairie smoke, pasque flower, leadplant, butterfly weed, and rough blazing star.
