Location And Access

Mt. Palatine Cemetery is located 1 mile north of McNabb on IL Rt. 89, then 1.5 miles east to the access lane, then north 0.1 mile to the cemetery.

Description

The mesic prairie remnant in the Grand Prairie Section of the Grand Prairie Division is a tall-grass prairie. Dominant grasses include both big and little bluestem, Indian grass and switchgrass. Among the forty or more native prairie forbs that bloom are prairie violet, yellow coneflower, hoary puccoon, creamy indigo, lead plant and New England aster.
