The site is approximately 2 miles east of Augusta, 15 miles northwest of Rushville, and 20 miles southwest of Macomb within the Weinberg-King State Park.

Description

Williams Creek Bluff Land and Water Reserve is comprised of a Grade B sandstone cliff community, an eroding bluff community, and a Grade C shale glade habitat identified by the Illinois Natural Areas Inventory (Weinberg-King Nature Area #0246). The site is within the boundaries of the Weinberg-King State Park, which is a mix of open uplands and highly dissected forested ravines. The reserve provides habitat for at least five Species in Greatest Need of Conservation, as identified by the Illinois Wildlife Action Plan, including: river otter, Northern Bobwhite, Yellow-billed Cuckoo, Red-headed Woodpecker, and Northern Flicker.

Access

The site is open to the public. To reach the site, proceed west approximately 19 miles on Illinois Route 101 from the Route 67/Route 101 north of Rushville. Upon reaching the entrance to Weinberg-King State Park, visitors can stop at the park office for directions.
