Project Title: Status and Distribution Assessment of the Eryngium Stem Borer Moth in Illinois

Community and/or Species Focus: Eryngium stem borer moth

Goals/Objectives:

  1. Conduct genetic analysis of Illinois populations
  2. Confirm current status and distribution
  3. Develop species-specific habitat suitability assessment criteria
  4. Monitor current status and distribution

Achievements:

  1. ​Determination of genetic viability within, and compatibility between, populations
  2. Surveys conducted at all known EOs and historical locations, as well as suitable habitats
  3. A field guide pamphlet for staff use
