Project Title: Habitat Enhancement for Nightjars at Stephen A. Forbes State Park

Community and/or Species Focus:

 Chuck-will's-widow, Whip-poor-will

Goals/Objectives:
  1. Implement prescribed burns and invasive species removal to enhance woodland habitat
  2. Conduct surveys on nightjar nest selection, foraging habitats, and habitat use
Achievements:
  1. ​Increased overall quality and acreage of open woodland communities to provide better nesting, foraging, and migratory habitats for existing nightjar populations and other SGCN
  2. Maintained nightjar populations with the potential to increase due to the improved habitat
