Project Title: Large-scale Grassland Bird Habitat Creation Project, Kane County Illinois

Community and/or Species Focus:

 Meadowlark, Song Sparrow, Bobolink, Dickcissel

Goals/Objectives:
  1. Create grasslands with diverse vegetation and structure
  2. Create suitable habitat for conservation priority birds
Achievements:
  1. ​Removed 290 acres from crop production at Muirhead Springs and replaced them with native tallgrass prairie
  2. Observed increased bird populations
  3. Managed and restored 58 acres at Fitchie Creek by removing invasive vegetation and planting prairie seed
