Project T-140-R1

Project Title: Reassembly of Mussel Communities Following Disturbance

Community and/or Species Focus: Mussels

Goals/Objectives:

  1. Gather existing mussel reassembly data
  2. Conduct surveys to collect additional mussel reassembly data
  3. Evaluate the rate of mussel community reassebly
  4. Evaluate the taxonomic sequence of reassembly
  5. Identify stable-state endpoints of assembly, if they occur
  6. Identify stream, biological, and disturbance characteristics that correlate with patterns of reassembly
Achievements:
  1. Identify the rate of mussel community reassembly
  2. Identify the stable-state endpoints of assembly
  3. Identify the degree in which reassembled mussel community resemble the pre-disturbance community
  4. Identify reassembly occurrence in proportion to the pre-disturbance mussel community
