The IDNR headquarters at 1 Natural Resources Way in Springfield has experienced a power outage and tree damage throughout the grounds as a result of severe storms in the area. The agency expects to reopen the building to the public on Monday, June 15, 2026, though this could be subject to change. Check back here for an update before planning to visit the office in person.

Project Title: Program Support for Recovery of Endangered & Threatened Species

Goals/Objectives:

  1. Execution of the IDNR Recovery Process for state-listed threatened and endangered wildlife species
  2. Conduct Stewardship Actions in support of the Recovery Process for state-listed threatened and endangered wildlife species
Achievements:
  1. ​Development and updates to Species Status Assessments and Conservation Planning Reports for Illinois endangered and threatened wildlife species
  2. Conduct monitoring or survey activities to support development and updates to Species Status Assessments of Illinois endangered and threatened wildlife species
  3. Implementation of stewardship activities identified to construct, enhance, or maintain habitat for endangered and threated wildlife species on a minimum of 2,000 acres
