Project Title: Recovery of the Greater Prairie-Chickens in Illinois

Community and/or Species Focus: Greater Prairie Chickens

Goals/Objectives:
  1. Restoration and stewardship of grassland habitat at Prairie Ridge State Natural Area
  2. Prepare and implement a translocating plan
  3. Conduct annual surveys
Achievements:
  1. ​About 100 prairie chickens were translocated each year for 3 years to PRSNA and released to be trapped during the spring months
  2. Performed post-release monitoring and spring booming ground census activities
