Project Title: Smooth Green Snake Project

Community and/or Species Focus: Smooth green snake

Goals/Objectives:
  1. Identify existing populations
  2. Document all survey sites, transect locations, and natural communities
  3. Head-start young that will be used to augment known populations and/or be reintroduced to suitable habitat areas
  4. Map locations of observed individuals to be used in future management plans
Achievements:
  1. ​Surveyed 12-14 sites with 250 cover boards in 50 transects each year, with placements adjusted each year based on prior success
  2. All survey sites, transect locations, and existing natural communities were documented, as well as data relating to habitat, species age class, species gender, and​ species body mass and weight
  3. All released head-started young (n=35) were used to augment current populations
  4. GPS coordinates of captures were mapped and combined with past data to produce a comprehensive occurrence map
