Project T-40-R1
Project Title: Utility of Anuran Call-survey Data for Estimating Occupancy, Abundance, and Reproductive Success in the Cache River Basin
Community and/or Species Focus:
Bird-voiced Treefrog, Crayfish Frog, Wood Frog
Goals/Objectives:
- Analyze existing frog calling survey data
- Estimate occupancy, abundance, reproductive success, and fine-scale habitat variables at the 10 Cache River wetland sites where call-surveys have been conducted for the past 5 years
- Conduct an overall multiple regression analysis on the data collected
Achievements:
- Routes 1-7 were selected for use based on completeness of data, and GIS was used to map the call sight locations
- Surveyed sites weekly using visual, call, minnow trap, and dip net surveys
- No pattern was discovered within genera for the impact of habitat variables on species; all genera with significant effects had only one member affected
