Over-the-counter deer firearm permit sales begin on Tuesday, Oct. 20. Due to recent software updates beyond IDNR’s control, some vendors may have limited availability to print permits and licenses. IDNR is working closely with the license system provider to quickly address the issue for those vendors. To locate unaffected vendors, use the agent locator at https://www.exploremoreil.com/agentlocator.

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources continues to redesign and reorganize its entire web sites. As an example, the new web address of this site is dnr.illinois.gov. We hope that this process makes the site more user friendly and makes it easier to find information you want. Unfortunately, it is possible that web links and bookmarks to the old web pages are no longer valid.

We wish that we could automatically take you to the new location of the information you want. Instead, please try one of these methods:

Look for the page in the A-Z List of Topics.
Search the web site using the search box in the upper-right corner of any web page.
Check for a typo in the URL, or go to the site home
