Candidates for Shaft & Slope Examiner Must:
- Be a citizen of the United States or lawfully admitted for permanent residence
- Document 2 Years Practical Shaft & Slope Sinking Experience
(Document One Year Exp. with Mining Engineering Degree) - Be of Good Repute and Temperate Habits
- Document First Aid & Mine Rescue Training
- Pass Examination

- Application
- 5000-23 or Equivalent Verification of 1st Aid & Mine Res.
- Letter of Experience From Present or Past Employers
- Shaft & Slope Workers Papers
Temporary Available if:
- Application Completed
- 2 Years Experience Documented
- State Mine Inspector Approves Application
- Pass Temporary Examination
- Temporary Valid Until Next Available Exam
