The IDNR headquarters at 1 Natural Resources Way in Springfield has experienced a power outage and tree damage throughout the grounds as a result of severe storms in the area. The agency expects to reopen the building to the public on Monday, June 15, 2026, though this could be subject to change. Check back here for an update before planning to visit the office in person.

Maple Bacon Wrapped Dove Breasts

Pairing apple and bacon with your dove harvest creates a delicious taste treat.

Lay a slice of maple-flavored bacon on a platter and place at one end a dove breast.

Place a slice of golden delicious apple on the dove breast.

Roll the bacon around the meat and apple and secure with a toothpick.

Grill the breasts over medium heat approximately 10–15 minutes, or until the bacon is cooked, turning frequently.

Serve as appetizer or entrée.
