​Accessibility at James Pate Phillip:


  • Parking - The main building parking lot is asphalt with 5 accessible parking spaces with an approximate 200' distance to the main door using the concrete sidewalk. At the main door, there are 2 wheelchair accessible picnic tables and two benches.

  • Restrooms - There is one restroom with accessible flush toilets and drinking fountains located just off the shelter parking lot.  

  • Picnicking - The James "Pate" Phillip shelter has accessible restrooms, tables and grills.

  • Trails - Three crushed limestone wheelchair accessible trails are available in the park. The Blazing Star trail is 1.5-miles, the Bluestem trail is 1.5-miles, and the Indigo trail is .7-miles. 

  • Service animals are welcome in the park, but there are no outdoor water fountains.
