Marked Timber For Sale

Marked Timber for Sale is a no-cost posting service. The Department does not endorse or condone any timber sale postings. For most accurate information regarding postings, contact the administrating forester.

Wooden Dollars is posted on a quarterly basis. Inspect bid dates carefully. 

A submission format is shown below and is required in this format. Submissions are accepted at any time. All submissions of marked timber for sale by consulting foresters, procurement foresters or others must be submitted by the second Thursday. Submissions by consulting foresters working with IFDA cooperators must adhere to the timber recommendations approved in the landowner’s written management plan. Foresters working with landowners at-large should adhere to recommended silviculture for Illinois forest types. Submissions may be sent US Mail or by email.

On 06/02/2026, at 10:00 AM, sealed offers will be received in the Hidden Springs Ranger District for

the Skip Jack Stewardship sale. Timber Sale Contract 2400-13T will be used.

The termination date for this sale is 09/30/2029.

Offerors should review section 20, pages 5-7 of the prospectus for instructions on the preparation and

submission of technical and price proposals. Offerors shall submit their proposal in the following

format and quantities specified:

1. One copy of the completed Solicitation and Offer for integrated Resource Contract, form

FS-2400-14BVU.

2. Three copies of their technical proposal.

3. One copy of the business/cost proposal.

The estimated quantities in this contract have been determined prior to felling. The total estimated

quantity on this sale is 963.00 CCF. The Forest Service encourages potential offerors to make their own

inspection and estimate prior to offer submission. The Forest Service makes no representation,

warranty, or guarantee of the accuracy.

All hardwood pulpwood, including marked timber from 10.0"-13.9" DBH and topwood on 14.0" DBH

and greater trees will be available as Timber Subject to Agreement. Hardwood Pulpwood marked for

Timber Subject to Agreement is marked with a painted ring around tree at DBH and has two stump

marks.

A bidding opportunity has gone out for a Timber Sale at Sand Ridge State Forest as Open Market Bid 26-422DNR-RESCO-B-52132.  All bidders must register in the State of Illinois E-procurement system called “Bidbuy” at the below link. This registration is free and only takes a few minutes. https://www.bidbuy.illinois.gov/bso/. Only Illinois Licensed Timber Buyers are eligible to bid. Award shall be made to the highest bidder. Payment to be made to IDNR. A scope of work is attached along with all pertinent information for this bid. Bids are due by May 15^th, 2026 by 2:00 pm.  Bids must be submitted in Bidbuy OR you can email your bid to Nicole.bergee@illiois.gov. This is a lump sum bid and will require a performance deposit after award at time of contract execution. Vendor shall submit 50% of the lump sum payment plus a 10% performance deposit at the time of contract execution. The balance of the lump sum payment shall be submitted prior to beginning any work. Vendors should submit the lump sum bid for the harvest. Do not include the performance deposit in your bid.
