Over-the-counter deer firearm permit sales begin on Tuesday, Oct. 20. Due to recent software updates beyond IDNR’s control, some vendors may have limited availability to print permits and licenses. IDNR is working closely with the license system provider to quickly address the issue for those vendors. Protecting Illinois Communities Act

On Jan. 10, 2023, Gov. JB Pritzker signed into law Public Act 102-1116, the Protect Illinois Communities Act. The act regulates the sale and distribution of assault weapons, high-capacity magazines, and switches in Illinois. Questions about the act should be directed to the Illinois State Police.
