​Accessibility Features at Beall Woods:


  • Parking - The parking lots are all asphalt, less than three years old, with marked accessible parking areas that are attached to sidewalks.

  • Sidewalks - Beall Woods concrete sidewalks are all equipped with textile warnings where they contact the asphalt parking lots.

  • Restrooms – Beall Woods State Park offers restroom facilities throughout the park. There are 3 accessible privies located at shelter 1, shelter 2, and the campground. A restroom with flush toilets is located inside the Visitor Center.

  • Camping Sites – Beall Woods State Park offers 2 designated accessible camping sites. One at Campsite 10 and one at Campsite 17, known as the Group Camp. Both are 1st come 1st serve with no reservations.

  • Fishing – Beall Woods State Park has one dock that is wheelchair accessible. The dock is located just past Shelter 1. There are two designated parking spots within 100 feet of the dock.

  • Hunting Opportunities – Beall Wood State Park provides accessible hunting opportunities upon request for Archery Deer Hunting Only. Please call (618) 298-2441 or stop by the Visitor Center and one of our staff will assist you.

  • Trails - Beall Woods has guided hikes available. There are 4 trails, some more difficult than others. The Tuliptree Trail is 1 mi long and is the least difficult with a couple of areas a person in a wheelchair may need assistance. The Tuliptree and the White Oak Trails both have benches to sit if needed. The White Oak Trail  is 1 1/4-miles long, and has 3 flights of stairs.

  • Amphitheater – Beall Woods State Park has an Amphitheater area with all new concrete sidewalks located near the Visitor Center. The site is used for large groups, church services, and weddings. There are three designated parking spots in front of the Visitor Center. 

  • Visitor Center - Beall Woods Visitor Center has a variety of displays and all are accessible. However, no headphones, no braille, or tactile displays are available. Doors to the Visitor Center are at ground level. 

  • Service dogs are welcome, water hydrants are available at the visitor center, shelters and campground.
