For a light lunch or a large get-together, check out Kankakee River State Park's picnic areas. Shelters and tables are placed in pleasant settings throughout the park, and you'll also find playgrounds in several locations. All shelters have camp grills. All shelters may be reserved at ExploreMoreIL™. If there's no reservation, shelters are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The main park opens at 7:00 am and closes at sunset. (Hours are posted inside main park gate.)
