Title

Fishing, Owl and Night Hike Program at Pere Marquette State Park

Description

Join us at Pere Marquette State Park in Grafton for a combination fishing, owl and night hike program. The fun event is free and open to the public.

Meet at the visitor center at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3 for an educational program on fish and fishing. The program will be led by IDNR urban fishing coordinator Scott Isringhausen. Following the presentation, children can fish at the blue gill pond next to the visitor center.

Then, at 7:30 p.m., there will be a program on owls and other nighttime creatures. Following the program, the group will take a night hike to listen for owls and other night sounds. The hike will be about 2 miles long and a portion of it will be uphill.

Stay for a hot dog and marshmallow roast when the hike is over. Please bring one flashlight per family. Refreshments and drinks will be provided.
