What is the State Pheasant Fund Grant Program?

The State Pheasant Fund portion involved in the Special Funds Grant Program provides for enhancing Pheasant wildlife habitat. Organized groups of volunteers from appropriate not-for-profit organizations and governmental entities develop projects and submit applications to IDNR to help fund their projects. Grant funding through this fund supports activities and programs undertaken to preserve, protect, acquire, manage, and maintain high quality habitat for wild pheasant conservation. The grant program is competitive, and proposed projects are evaluated on their merit.

Applicant Eligibility

  • ​Eligible Recipients 
  • Eligible Projects 
    • Limited to projects with the purpose of wild pheasant conservation.
    • Projects may include land acquisition, pheasant habitat improvement on public or private land, pheasant research or education of the public regarding pheasants and pheasant hunting, and those seeking to preserve, protect, acquire or manage habitat in Illinois.

       

How to Apply

Step 1

All applicants must be pre-qualified through the State of Illinois Grantee Portal. 

Step 2

Please read the Opportunity Details​ for more details on this program, including scoring criteria and grant program rules and restrictions. Additional documentation including project location maps, price quotes, and a habitat management plan may be required.

Step 3

All completed applications must be submitted online through the AmpliFund/Euna grant management system. FY27 applications will be accepted from July 1 to August 1, 2026.
