Trees Pay Us Back!   Every time we plant a tree we are planting an appreciating asset.  With proper care these living assets, help combat climate change, clean the air,  provide oxygen,  cool the streets and the city, conserve energy and much more.

Below are some resources that will help you understand the value of the community trees.   The Tree Benefits Calculator will provide you with a value of the environmental services provided by the trees in your yard. 

Many organizations are following the lead of the USDA FS and State Urban and Community Forestry organizations in documenting the value of trees and nature associated with human sustainability and health.  The American Society of Landscape Architects Health Benefits of Nature webpage provides tree benefits research by health issue and by age group. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the National Park Service (NPS) Rivers, trails, and Conservation Assistance Program have created a new tool to assist communities. "The Parks, Trails and Health Workbook: A Tool for Planners, Parks and Recreation Professionals and Health Practitioners" is a quick guide tool for integrating public health considerations in the development and improvement of a park or trail.
