State Historic Preservation Advisory Board
The Illinois State Historic Preservation Advisory Board was established under state law (20 ILCS 3405/4.7) to advise the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) on the listing and delisting of state historic sites, as well as changes to site designations.
In addition, the board advises the Department on methods for assisting, protecting, conserving and managing state historic sites, subject to Department approval and available appropriations.
The advisory board is composed of nine members appointed by the Governor and the IDNR director. IDNR’s portfolio includes state historic sites.
