Off-Highway Vehicle Safety Education
Requirements
Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) safety education certification is not required to operate an all-terrain vehicle (ATV), off-highway motorcycle (OHM), or recreational off-highway vehicle (OHV) in Illinois.
If you intend to operate an OHV in another state, check that state's OHV safety certification requirements.
Course Options
Illinois does not currently offer OHV safety education courses for certification. An online OHV education study guide is available as a free resource to learn more about OHV safety.
