Pesticide Notifications
Below is a list of sites located in the boundaries of a municipality and may be in the process of applying pesticides. Please check the listing and click on the link for further information on dates and locations. Please use caution when visiting the areas listed.
Public Act 103-0976 SB3342 Section 10
At least 24 hours before the State or a unit of local government, including a mosquito abatement district or a commercial entity hired by the State, or a unit of local government applies a pesticide, including a pesticide to control mosquitoes, to a public right-of-way that is located within the corporate boundaries of a municipality, the State, mosquito abatement district , or other unit of local government in which the application is to be made, shall provide written notice to the public of the application of pesticides.
The following parks are located within the corporate boundaries of a municipality: Adeline Jay Geo-Karis Illinois Beach State Park, Cache River State Natural Area, Channahon State Park, Ferne Clyffe State Park, Fort Defiance State Park, Fort Massac State Park, Frank Holten State Park, Gebhard Woods State Park, Harlem Hills State Natural Area, Hennepin Canal Parkway State Park, Horseshoe Lake State Park (Madison County), Lake in the Hills Fen State Natural Area, Nauvoo State Park, Palatine Road Marsh State Habitat Area, Pere Marquette State Park, Prophetstown State Park, Pyramid State Park, Rock Island Trail State Park, Rock Cut State Park, Spitler Woods State Park, Tunnel Hill State Trail, William W. Powers State Recreational Area, William G. Stratton State Park, World Shooting and Recreational Complex.
