Thank you for joining The Illinois Department of Natural Resources at the annual Pheasant Fest and Quail Classic in February 2019. Each year our agency coordinates hundreds of programs in Illinois, investing in the future of Illinois lands. Illinois Recreational Access Program

The Illinois Recreational Access Program (IRAP) leases private property throughout Illinois for semi-controlled public access for a variety of public recreational opportunities. Landowners enrolled in IRAP can choose which outdoor recreational activities they agree to let the public to access while also retaining time for their personal outdoor activities on their property.

Law Enforcement

The Office of Law Enforcement supports the Department's programs designed to protect Illinois' natural and recreational resources through enforcement. Police Officers are vested with full state-wide police authority and are trained to the highest standards for law enforcement professionals in Illinois.

World Shooting & Recreational Complex

The State of Illinois and the Department of Natural Resources are proud to bring you the premier 1,600-acre World Shooting and Recreational Complex (WSRC) located in scenic Southern Illinois.

National Archery in the Schools Program

This nationally acclaimed youth archery program implements a curriculum-based archery education program into the public/private school system through the physical education department.

The Scholastic Clay Target Program

Our program provides kids from elementary grades through high school and college with the opportunity to participate in the fun and challenging sports of Trap, Skeet and Sporting Clays, as well as the Olympic disciplines of Bunker Trap, Trap Doubles and International Skeet.

Wingshooting

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) working with a variety of partners, sponsors wingshooting clinics at sites geographically distributed throughout Illinois. The clinics are conducted on weekends during the spring through early fall of each year.

Becoming an Outdoor Woman (BOW)

Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BOW) is a program designed to give woman introductory experiences and instruction in various outdoor activities. Classes range from outdoor recreation activities to shooting sports to outdoor crafts and hobbies.

Disabled Outdoors Program

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is committed to providing greater access and more programs for persons with disabilities. We want to make it easier for disabled individuals to hunt, fish and pursue other outdoor activities.

Hunter Heritage Program

Learn to Hunt

The Illinois Learn to Hunt program provides FREE educational workshops aimed at teaching ADULT participants how to hunt deer, turkey, small game, upland game, and waterfowl.

Chronic Wasting Disease Management

Since the first case of CWD was discovered in Illinois, the Department of Natural Resources started a "targeted surveillance program" for CWD in wild deer which was first proposed by the Southeastern Cooperative Wildlife Disease Study, a diagnostic and research service which investigates wildlife diseases.

Office of Land Management

We offer programs in Pheasant Hunting, Sporting Dog Training, and Upland Game Hunting.

Mason State Tree Nursery

Mason State Specializes in bareroot tree seedlings, pollinator seed mix and potted trees and plants for land restoration and conservation, private landowners and home landscaping.
